Kirk Eby is a GIS Planner with the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland. In addition to acting as the City’s GIS manager, he serves as the staff liaison to the Board of Appeals, assists with City Master Plan updates, reviews subdivision plats, administers the assignment of addresses, and creates maps for various departments and the public. Prior to his ten years with Gaithersburg, Mr. Eby was the GIS Project Leader for Tompkins County, New York and had also worked as a GIS Technician and Analyst for the Ithaca-Tompkins County Transportation Council. He has served as Treasurer for the Cartographic and Geographic Information Society since 2006.
Mr. Eby is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and is a Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP). He received a B.S. in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University in 1996 and is currently pursuing a Master of Architecture at Morgan State University.
