International Cartographic Conference

The USNC supports US participation in the biennial conference of the International Cartographic Association. The 32nd International Cartographic Conference (ICC) was held in Vancouver, British Columbia, from August 16 to 22. A total of 748 people participated in the conference to attend keynote and technical presentations, view the International Cartographic Exhibition and the Barbara Petchenik International Children’s Map Competition, explore the technical exhibition and take technical tours, and meet friends, old and new, at social events.

Almost 750 people from over 60 countries attended the conference. US participants constituted over 10% of the total attendees, with many presenting their work in conference sessions. CaGIS International Conference grants supported 19 early career scholars and 13 non-early career scholars.
