Due to the overwhelming requests, the submission deadline of extended abstracts (up to 1,500 words) has been extended to January 24, 2020.
Below is the updated schedule:

Student assistantship applications due: February 14, 2020

AutoCarto 2020 Workshops Announced

The AutoCarto 2020 Program Committee is pleased to announce the selected workshops to be held in coordination with AutoCarto 2020 to be held in Redlands, CA. Workshops will be held on Tuesday, May 19th, in advance of AutoCarto 2020. They range from 90 minutes to full-day workshops.

We are pleased to announce that the Call for Submissions has been published for AutoCarto 2020, to be held May 19-22 at the Esri campus in Redlands, CA. Student assistantships for attendance are available!
2019 US National Report
Every four years, the US National Committee (USNC) for the International Cartographic Association (ICA) publishes the US National Report. The report summarizes cartography and geographic information science (GIScience) activities in the nation during the previous four years across all sectors, including academia, industry, and government.
This year’s report includes a one-page editorial by USNC chair Aileen Buckley, an open-access peer-reviewed article published in CaGIS by Keith Clarke, J. Michael Johnson, and Tim Trainor, and a comprehensive online report by multiple authors and edited by Aileen Buckley.

The Cartographic and Geographic Information Society is proud to present AutoCarto 2020, the 23rd International Research Symposium on Computer-based Cartography. The symposium will be held May 20 to 22, 2020, in Redlands, California, on the beautiful Esri campus.
Since 1974, AutoCarto been has the premier symposium to showcase transformational research in cartographic and GIScience. This meeting continues to bring together cartographers, geographers, geospatial analysts, GIScientists, and others from around the world conducting research on the cutting edge of the geospatial sciences.

CaGIS Scholarship Awarded
CaGIS is pleased to announce that the 2019 winner of the Ph.D. Scholarship is Brent Dell from the University of Texas. Brent is advised by Dr. May Yuan and is a member of the Geospatial Analytics and Innovative Applications (GAIA) Laboratory, where his research integrates augmented and virtual reality and aerial archaeology with drones.
State of Geospatial Employment Survey
